Hope House for the Multiple-Handicapped is a private non-profit organization which serves people affected by developmental disabilities. Founded in 1963 by parents, Hope House serves people presenting a variety of challenging physical, emotional and developmental needs. Services are designed to assist the person to become as self sufficient as possible through unconditional support and positive motivation.
PROGRAM SERVICES
HOPE HOUSE CHILDREN'S FACILITY
This forty-bed residential facility is designed for children ages 4-18. We provide 24 hours a day supervision, care and training.
THE RANCHITO - CEDAR HOUSE -SCHMIDT HOUSE
These three homes serve adults with disabilities. Each home serves six people and offers opportunities for independent living skills training in a normal home setting.
RESPITE REACHOUT
This in-home service assists over 60 families in the San Gabriel Valley by providing temporary/relief care for families caring for a disabled person at home.
FUNDING
Hope House is funded through a combination of tuition's from Regional Centers, L.A. County Children’s Services, and Medi-Cal. We receive no United Way funding except for individual contributions designated for us.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Hope House welcomes volunteers at all times. The range of involvement opportunities is enormous and the organization seeks to match volunteer skills with organizational needs.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Hope House Ladies Auxiliary operates a Thrift Store six days per week on the grounds of the children’s facility. In addition, they sponsor several fund raising events each year, to provide additional funds to enhance the quality of services to our clients.
